I'd like an app that tells you about upcoming Edmonton events. Users could submit events via twitter, e-mail, facebook, etc... So many times I've learned about an Edmonton event too late to fit it into my schedule, primarily because the newspapers and such only advertise events the weekend of the event, or a few days before. It'd be nice to have a listing of all the festivals and concerts unique to Edmonton so people can see the breadth of Edmonton culture.

You mean like http://www.shareedmonton.ca/events/ You can see all the festivals here, and you can subscribe via RSS or iCal: http://www.shareedmonton.ca/events/festivalsMack D. Male
Trying to link it this time: <a href="http://www.shareedmonton.ca/events/">ShareEdmonton Events</a>Lonnie
I completely agree Laura, but as Mack Male says, check out his site as he keeps a good update of events around Edmonton. I've been subscribing for a bit to his feeds and they've definitely have helped me keep track.Aaron
I think this would work well as an app if it was geo enabled and time-aware. So if I was standing in Churchill Square at 11am the app could show me events that were about to start there.Diane
I would prefer messages sent to my cell phone instead of tweets...something like I get from Global Edmonton for weather warnings...Not fond of tweeting...etownkris
I strongly agree with Aaron on the geo-enabled. Also it would be nice to have something where types of events could be selected - for example I like food and outdoor music events, but am less interested in the rodeo or... Also I have loved the City of Edmonton twitter feed for events like public meetings that I never seem to find out about other ways.Alejandro
There's a new app just for this: http://contest.apps4edmonton.ca/apps/6Dustin Bajer
App already exists.
